Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

TechPulse (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates techpulsesite.com. This policy explains what data the site collects, why, who else receives it, and what you can do about it.

Who We Are

TechPulse is an independently run technology publication. For any question about this policy or about data we hold, contact us at rony.yf25@gmail.com or through the contact page.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Comments — the name, email address, and comment text you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent. This is used to display the comment and to detect spam.
  • Contact messages — whatever you choose to send us by email, retained so we can respond and keep a record of corrections.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs — IP address, request time, page requested, referring page, and user agent. Used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing faults.
  • Approximate location — your IP address is used to infer a country so the site can offer the article in a likely language. The result is stored in a cookie so the lookup does not repeat on every page.
  • Analytics — pages viewed, time on page, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

We do not ask for or knowingly collect financial information, government identifiers, or any special category data.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function, including session handling and comment submission.
  • Preference cookies — remember your chosen language so it is not re-detected on every visit.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions.
  • Advertising cookies — set by third-party ad networks, described in the next section.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site; blocking advertising cookies will not.

Advertising and Third-Party Vendors

This site is supported by advertising. The following applies to advertising served here:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info, or for European users at Your Online Choices.
  • Third-party ad networks operating on this site may place or read cookies independently of us. We do not control those cookies and do not receive the data they collect.

Where required, a consent prompt is shown before non-essential advertising cookies are set, and you may change or withdraw your choice at any time through that prompt.

Advertising has no influence over what we publish. See our Editorial Policy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read and how people find them. It collects your IP address (truncated before storage), pages viewed, and general device information. We use this in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual readers.

Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent collection by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Legal Basis for Processing

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies:

  • Consent — analytics and advertising cookies, and any comment you choose to submit.
  • Legitimate interests — server logs and security measures, for the purpose of keeping the site available and preventing abuse.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in the sense defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Data is processed by the following categories of recipient:

  • Our hosting provider, which processes server logs on our behalf
  • Google Analytics, for the analytics described above
  • Third-party advertising networks, for the advertising described above
  • Spam-filtering services applied to comments

We may disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

International Transfers

The service providers above operate internationally, so your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards each provider has put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

Data Retention

  • Comments — retained indefinitely so conversation threads remain intact, unless you ask for removal.
  • Analytics data — retained for 26 months, then deleted automatically.
  • Server logs — rotated and deleted on a rolling short-term basis.
  • Contact emails — retained while relevant to an ongoing matter or correction record.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data deleted
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
  • Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority

To exercise any of these, email rony.yf25@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

Browsers vary in how they send Do Not Track signals and there is no agreed standard for responding to them. We do not currently respond to DNT signals. The opt-out links above remain effective regardless.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

External Links

Articles link to external sites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Read their policies before providing data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be made prominent on this page.
